Film: Vertigo (1958)
Dir: Alfred Hitchcock
Tagline: Alfred Hitchcock engulfs you in a whirlpool of terror and tension!
Rating: *** out of 5 stars
I don't have much to say about this movie, but I vowed to write an entry on every new movie I see. So here goes:
No way is this movie more tense than Psycho or Rear Window. Uh-uh. The one thing it did better than the latter, though, was it didn't cop out in the end. Granted, I already saw the ending coming cause I read one tiny blurb about the movie that ruined the ending. But yeah, Vertigo had the kind of ending Rear Window should have had.
So yeah, I didn't enjoy this one as much as some of Hitch's other work, but it was good (duh). It felt more like a mystery (ala Rebecca) than a suspense/horror (ala Psycho). Still it was nothing like I expected, which is good. I don't really have any complaints about it, but I wasn't blown away or anything, so I got nothing else to say. Sorry, this is one crappy review!

I like Vertigo, but it sure is awfully long and slowly-paced.
