Grandma's Boy

Title: Grandma's Boy (2006)
Dir: Nicholaus Goossen
Rating: ** out of 5 stars

I completely forgot I even saw this movie, hence this review is a few weeks late. That pretty much tells you how I felt about it, huh?

Crapola. Not funny. Nothing but sex and stoner jokes - poor ones, at that.

The film is about a video game tester named Alex (Allen Covert, looking freakishly like Mel Gibson) who, after being evicted from his apartment, moves in with his grandmother and her two elderly roommates. And that's the plot.

What happens therein ranges from stoned grannies to karate monkeys to titty suckling. There's a hot chick (Linda Cardellini, wtf happened to you?!) and a really annoying kid (Joel Moore) who talks like a robot. He's the villain. Joy.

There are appearances from the usual Happy Madison gang, including Rob Schneider, Peter Dante, and Kevin Nealon. Ya know, I had kinda liked those side-actors from Adam Sandler's movies...until now.

The saving grace of Grandma's Boy is Nick Swardson, who is a hilarious stand-up comedian and I highly recommend you watch ANYTHING else with him instead of this movie. Or utilize the fast-foward button generously.

Now I'm out of things to say. Let's summarize - Nick Swardson: FUNNY. Grandma's Boy: NOT FUNNY.
